Cross Estate Gardens feels like stepping into a storybook. I still remember my first visit–it was like discovering a secret garden. Since then, I’ve returned with countless families, and every session brings new magic: toddlers chasing butterflies, parents walking hand-in-hand…it’s a place that invites natural heartfelt moments.
Natirar – Rolling Hills and Natural Beauty in Peapack, Gladstone, NJ
Why It’s Great:
- Scenic mix of rolling hills, historic buildings, open fields, and a river
- Dog-friendly and perfect for playful, outdoorsy families
- Less crowded than more well-known locations
Keep in Mind:
- Expect a 10-15 minute hike to reach the meadow
- Most locations require some walking
- Wear comfy shoes
Why I Love It:
There’s something about Natirar that invites play and connection. Kids can skip stones by the river or run through the meadows without feeling posed or stiff. It’s also perfect for including the family pup! I always suggest bringing a friend to help with your dog once we’ve gotten some family shots so we can focus on family pairings.
Pro Tip: Make a day of it–pack a picnic for after your session or dine at Ninety Acres, a beautiful spot for a special night out.
